Converting an Old Byre for the Farm and Four Cottages
Jane Manifold wanted an on-site laundry for Banchory Farm and its four premium self-catering farm cottages. An old byre provided the space for the conversion.
Thain Commercial worked with Jane to plan a facility for the farm and its guests, bringing together the laundry layout, equipment proposal and installation requirements.
A Costed Proposal for the Farm
For a rural accommodation business, weather-dependent collections and deliveries could complicate the linen routine. An on-site laundry offered Jane greater control over when linen was processed and the standard of the finished items.
Scott Falconer met with Jane to understand the workload and the aims of the project. The proposal included a costed quotation, anticipated energy and detergent consumption and estimated operator hours.
The brief sought greater control over the laundry, less dependence on collections and deliveries and a base for the housekeeping team to store linen, cleaning products and consumables. The proposal considered the potential cost, time and transport benefits of bringing that work on site.
Working With the Renovation Team
Thain Commercial provided a CAD design for the laundry area and worked with the renovation team on the installation of the new machines.
Product training was arranged for the Banchory Farm staff, with support available after installation.
