The vessel was only in harbour for a few hours before returning to sea, meaning the engineer had a very limited window in which to complete the work. The correct parts and expertise had to be at the quayside at exactly the right time.

Operating from its Cumbernauld headquarters and Aviemore service centre, the team can support customers throughout Scotland, regardless of their location.
Engineers are trained and experienced across leading manufacturers and can service and maintain equipment even when it wasn't originally supplied by Thain Commercial. The company also provides planned preventative maintenance and bespoke servicing plans, helping customers reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns.
For the Shetland vessel, this meant understanding the customer's restricted timeframe, identifying the required parts and ensuring the engineer was dockside and ready to complete the work before the boat sailed.
