Replacing Domestic Machines Across Three Yoga Studios
Tribe Yoga’s three Edinburgh studios were using domestic washing machines and dryers to handle a high volume of towels each day. The appliances struggled with this level of use, with recurring breakdowns leaving equipment unavailable when the studios needed it most. Long cycle times also made it difficult to keep up with the laundry workload.
Thain Commercial met with the team to understand these challenges and visited each studio to assess the available space and mains services. The aim was to provide a reliable commercial laundry solution suited to daily use, while making practical use of the space at each location.
A Stacked Washer and Dryer at Each Studio
The equipment proposal considered daily towel volumes, loading ratios, layout and energy consumption. Thain Commercial recommended Miele Professional Little Giants washers and dryers to replace the domestic appliances with equipment designed for commercial use.
Each studio received a washer and dryer installed in a stacked arrangement, providing both washing and drying capacity while minimising the floor space required. This gave the studios a consistent equipment setup, with the specification informed by the surveys at all three locations.
A Miele-backed warranty and service plan formed part of the proposal, giving Tribe Yoga ongoing support alongside the new machines.
Installation Around the Class Schedule
With fixed class schedules across three studios, keeping disruption to a minimum was an important part of the project. Thain Commercial completed the installation of the new washing machines and dryers at all three locations in one day.
Tribe Yoga confirmed that no classes had to be cancelled during the work. Commercial Manager Makenzie Hart also highlighted the team’s clear communication and the support provided throughout the process.
Following installation, the studio team reported efficient performance and significantly shorter laundry times. Their feedback shows how the move from domestic appliances to commercial equipment helped the business manage its regular towel workload more effectively.
