Preparing a Premium Laundry Service for Opening Day
Jenna Trowell, who already operated an established cleaning business across Clackmannanshire, approached Thain Commercial while planning Blush & Bubbles in Dollar. Her new venture would offer a high-end, concierge-style laundry service, combining convenience with careful garment handling and a personal, “white-glove” approach to customer service.
Jenna wanted equipment that supported this standard of fabric care while using energy-efficient technology to help reduce utility bills. The proposal also needed to suit the High Street premises, available budget and planned opening date.
Planning the Layout and Installation Requirements
Thain Commercial visited the proposed premises and worked with Jenna to establish the available space, equipment requirements and installation timetable. Energy-saving features were an important part of the discussions, alongside the practical requirements of opening a new laundry business.
The proposal included a detailed layout drawing setting out the mechanical and electrical requirements, together with equipment costs based on a five-year washing-machine and tumble-dryer lease rental contract. This included full parts and labour cover for the duration of the agreement, along with annual planned preventative maintenance.
Washers and Heat-Pump Dryers
The equipment proposal combined Miele Professional washers with Electrolux Professional heat-pump tumble dryers. The washers offered high extraction, low energy, water and consumables consumption and a patented honeycomb drum design, supporting Jenna’s focus on careful treatment of customers’ garments.
The Electrolux Professional dryers provided low-energy heat-pump technology and moisture balance control. These features supported the brief for a more sustainable laundry operation while helping manage ongoing running costs.
Once Jenna accepted the proposal, Thain Commercial worked closely with her refurbishment contractors to coordinate the installation with the planned building works. All equipment was installed and commissioned in one day, with product training included, allowing Blush & Bubbles to open its doors the following day.
